AVCOR HEALTH is proud to support Susan G. Komen in the fight against breast cancer.
For years we noted the good and productive works done by Susan G. Komen® as they supported women affected by breast cancer and sought a cure for that disease. In 2012, Avcor elected to actively support Susan G. Komen® in its fight against breast cancer and we continue that support today. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. These are our employees, friends and family members. Susan G. Komen® provides support and hope to women and men affected by breast cancer by empowering others, ensuring quality care for all, and investing in science to find the cures. In more than 18,000 communities across the U.S., more than 75,000 Komen volunteers and staff work to help fund breast cancer education, screening, and treatment programs for those who need it most. They are making a difference in people’s lives. We have committed monies to Susan G. Komen, our people participate in their events and we offer product and resources whenever possible because we believe they can “do good”. If you are reading this, we hope you will consider the difference they are making and add your contribution to ours in the hope that one day we can win the war against cancer. Avcor is the premier developer, manufacturer, and marketer of premium compression dressings, thermal compression bandages, and I.V. Aids used in the institutional and consumer/retail healthcare markets. Avcor Health Care Products, Inc., a Texas Corporation, began operations in 1984. Avcor manufactures its products in Fort Worth, Texas and distributes through the leading institutional distributors, including Cardinal Healthcare, Owens & Minor, McKesson, PHS, and other regional dealers. Avcor started with one, core product line. The goal was to manufacture and market a patented elastic bandage that features a self-closure technology, eliminating metal clips or tapes that is required by competitor’s products. Avcor’s closure technology adheres anywhere along the wrap of the bandage to be properly secured to ensure desired compression and ease of application. Controlled compression is gained through the patented knit construction and elastomer design of Avcor’s Honeycomb X-TEN™ bandage. The bandage quickly soared to, and remains today, the #1 selling honeycomb elastic bandage in the U.S. Since that time, Avcor has developed a complementing line of products. Each product has been designed and developed primarily to provide the ultimate in convenience of use by hospital staff. Avcor’s commitment is, and has always been, to produce products of the highest quality that deliver total unit reduction and overall cost savings. Avcor has committed to donate 10% of the sales price of each pink X-Tourn and pink Ice Right product sold in 2015 to Susan G. Komen with a guaranteed minimum donation of $25,000. Since our partnership began in 2012, Avcor has donated $75,000 to Susan G. Komen.
